Dr. Vettivelu earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics at the University of Waterloo (2012, dean’s honour list) and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo (2016, dean’s honour list). She completed an Advanced Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the Montgomery Veterans Hospital, where she received extensive training in the management of ocular diseases. Dr. Vettivelu is very passionate about providing all patients with gold-standard eye care. She cares for patients of all ages, with special interest in children’s vision. She is also passionate about community involvement and was an executive member of the University of Waterloo Lion’s Club and helped to organize multiple charitable fundraisers to purchase guide dogs for the visually impaired. Dr. Vettivelu volunteered her services in Mexico, providing eye care to impoverished communities. Dr. Vettivelu was raised in Guelph and is very pleased to be a member or our team in Centre Wellington.
